Any machine going out on hire needs to be protected with an insurance policy cover. Either the hirer provides their own cover by supplying a copy of their insurance cover prior to the machine going out on hire, or being covered by Allways Hire’s insurance cover.
If the machine is covered by Allways Hire’s cover then a 8% hire insurance premium is payable. A $2,500 – $10,000 insurance excess applies to any claim other than windscreens or glass damage.
This insurance covers you for accidental unforeseen damage or theft. it doesn’t cover for damage due to misuse, negligence or loss by theft where the hirer failed to take responsible precaution to protect or secure the machine. The machine especially a vehicle must be operated with in the NZ laws and regulations to be covered by Allways Hire’s insurance cover.
All repair costs up to the insurance excess amount of $2,500 – $10,000 are payable by the hirer regardless of the circumstances.
If you have any other questions regarding insurance we would be happy to talk to you about this.
