WHAT IS A WATER CART?

A Water Cart is a Water Tank that you can fill with water and transport to where you need it. Water Carts are also known as Water Trucks because they are often transported on trucks. Water Carts can also sit on trailers that can be hooked up to the back of a suitable truck or ute.

Water carts are handy tools for construction, roading, and agriculture. They are particularly useful during the Summer months when dry conditions can impact the ability to get jobs like rolling and road construction complete.  Dust is a recognised environmental hazard and having a water cart on hand can help to prevent dust on a worksite.

DO WATER CARTS COME FULL OF WATER WHEN YOU HIRE THEM?

Whether or not your water cart is full of water when you hire it depends on the hire company you use. It’s worth talking to your hire company before you organise pick up so you can understand if you are going to have to fill your water cart yourself.

Bear in mind that the larger the capacity of your water cart, the longer it will take to fill. For maximum convenience it’s a good idea to have your water cart filled before you drive it out of the hire equipment yard.

Water is heavy and it’s important to bear that in mind when planning to transport your water cart full of water. Your hire company will be able to help you check the type of vehicle that you need to transport your water cart.

CAN I DRINK THE WATER IN MY WATER CART?

Don’t forget to check if your hire company is using drinkable water when you pick up your water cart. Most equipment hire companies do not provide drinking water in their water carts. It’s important to buy your drinking water from a certified supplier to protect the health of anyone who is going to drink it.
